About us

Nicolette and David

Nicolette and David are the owners and hosts of Trem-Y-Don B&B. Having travelled and lived in various places in Europe and Africa we settled in Noordhoek with a young family. What Noordhoek offers us as a family we hope to share with our guests: a tranquil rural setting 35km from the vibrant and beautiful city of Cape Town.

Activities for everyone

Situated on the western seaboard the Cape Peninsula offers an abundance of activities we enjoy. We are happy to provide further information on activities and assist with travel plans in and around Cape Town and further afield. See our top ten tips under 'Tourist tips'.

Nicolette is an avid horse rider and would happily arrange and accompany you on an out ride where possible. She studied history at Amsterdam University and has visited almost all the museums in Cape Town. David is a keen sportsman and frequently enjoys Noordhoek surfing and running.

Having met and worked in Namibia Nicolette and David have a special bond with the wilderness and people of Namibia. Working as a photographer in the Kalahari David is the co-founder of the Ju/'hoansi Development Fund supporting San education in north east Namibia. Five percent of our B&B turnover is donated to supporting the Ju/'hoansi Development Fund.

Eco friendly

It is important to us as a family and a business to do our small part in caring for the environment. We try to live by the 'Reduce-Reuse-Recycle' mantra. Separation of waste for recycling, low energy lighting, water saving showers, refilling guest amenities and reuse of furniture and building materials all contribute to this goal. Wherever possible we buy organic, fair trade and free range products preferably from local suppliers.
